I have a question: how high do saint's winngs let one fly? Could you get to the top of the Empire State?

. . . Just high enough to be out of purgatory.

Is that like a bat out of hell? Why do I all of a sudden want some meatloaf...?

I've read your article (or a part of it?) with the title "The Form of Church Prayers and Hymns with the Manner of Administering the Sacraments and Consecrating Marriage According to the Custom of the Ancient Church" on Calvin's liturgy (Strasbourg and Geneva). Would you please let me know the source you used for it. It would be very helpful to me for my research on church interpreting. I am looking for the English version of Calvin's confession of sins. Thank you very much.

Hello Csilla,

You can see the liturgy Calvin used in Strasbourg and Geneva (some variation) in:

Liturgies of the Western Church, ed. Bard Thompson (Minneapolis: Fortress, 2003).

Hello Mr. Hyde,

Thank you very much for your answer. Could you tell me if this book is available on-line, because I don't have access to it.
I have another question. Do you use Calvin's prayer of confession on a regular basis in your church?

Kind regards,
Csilla

Hello Csilla (what kind of name is that . . . interesting!)

There is a limited preview on Google, which does include Calvin and Bucer's liturgies: http://books.google.com/books?id=s8nfEy1H8QcC&printsec=frontcover&dq=liturgies+of+the+western+church&sig=UIfLdkFB_4Bai8uig54sLv6PLiw#PPA198,M1

Also, we use two prayers of confession, the General Confession of the Book of Common Prayer and a contemporary version written by Michael Horton. You can see the latter on our Liturgy page: http://dannyhyde.squarespace.com/this-lords-day-ourc/

In the back of our Psalter Hymnal we have a collection of prayers, one of which is Calvin's Confession, which I use in our Good Friday liturgy.

Blessings.

Hello Rev. Hyde,

I have already found it at google books, but it doesn't let me see the pages I need and I've thought maybe there is an another option.
The Calvin's Confession from your Psalter Hymnal is identical with that from Liturgies of the Western Church or it is a contemporary version?
Well, my name... it is my given name. I'm Hungarian.
Thanks for help!!!
